You'll probably earn more as a pharmacist and it'll probably be a more easy-going job, but pharmacology is a really really popular field now and you'll have a lot of competition in pharmacy school. Do you think you'd enjoy being a pharmacist for the rest of your life? Would you go find a job after you receive your degree, or will you be pursuing a Masters? Both these types of careers will be highly sought after. My former roommate was Chem E and is now working for Conoco-Phillips. Personally, I believe that pursuing a career in pharmacology will yield better results in the future though. Good luck!

Usually researchers go to more school to get their p.h.d. Pharmacists get paid pretty well and it's less school but I don't think they have as much prestige. Researchers' pay varies depending on who they work for.

Yes, it is possible. They may not let you handle the medicine, but it can't hurt to put your application in. Good luck and good job for taking the initiative to gain the experience.

Each State should have a Board of Pharmacy (or something similarly named). You should be able to find them in the blue pages of the phone book, under State Government. I would call them and ask. Be sure to ask for reference points, so that you can read and copy the requirements for your own records.

If you cannot find a Board of Pharmacy listing, contact your local Department of Health, or stop by a pharmacy and ask the Pharmacist on duty for the name of the agency and if he or she knows how to contact them.

Please don't tie up the Pharmacist's time with "how do I" as you'll be taking them from their duties, and ultimately you'll have to deal with the State anyway.
