Yes, this field is booming really big, unfortunately that also means it is very difficult to get into. There are multiple types of schools that have pharmacy however. There is a way to get directly into a school of pharmacy and get your Doctor of Pharmacy degree in six years known as a direct entry. These are most difficult to get into because you are going directly in. There are also schools that are 4/2. You go for four years and get your pre-req's and then apply to the school of pharmacy, a little easier to get into then the direct entry. Then there are 2/4, which is 2 years of pre-reqs and 4 of pharmacy. Most schools set it up so the last year is an internship at a pharmacy. Think about the job security though... you can go ANYWHERE. From a local pharmacy to a pharmacy at Wal-Mart/Walgreens, and what city doesn't have one or isn't close to one? To top that off starting out you will make at least 90k a year. That boils down to $46.00 an hour. Pharmacy as an occupation is growing as well with not just one type of job, pharmacists are starting to get patients now and be able to write prescriptions. Not to mention there is all of the research and development opportunities. I received a book from Ohio State that is easily 100+ pages of just careers within pharmacy.

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but pharmocology is a growing field in the U.S. and there are job opportunities available!
