IT is good to have a pg in pharmacy, but frankly speaking indian degrees have less value(you may not be able to practice as a pharmacist), unless you take some licesnceship exam from usa........Also the course "PHARM D" ,dont confuse with "d pharm" is a better course and this qualification is valid in usa,i believe the same with european countries...

Dear Mr. Vishnu,Yes, there are many jobs. All Pharma Companies are having a research & Development department. Minimum qualification is M.Pharm, MSc - Bio Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bio Technology etc.,

Short term it is spotty. Large companies are hiring but small ones are going belly-up daily (NMTI is the latest small one to lay off a lot of staff).Long term prospects are good.
Look in the online versions of local papers like Boston Globe or periodicals like BioTechnology to get more specifics.

I hate to tell you this, but even with a Masters degree in this industry its very difficult to move up. I have friends at Genetec who have Masters from UC Berkeley and still have difficulty moving up. My sister-in-law a agrad from UCLA works for NEKTAR and to move up Masters is required..Another friend is moving into Sports Medicine, from a lab bio company,where she can use her degree and gear it to health and fitness...or you can do a BALCO move..that guy doesnt have any background in Bio science..and he is a millionare..just not in the way you would think a millionare is made
