is a pharmacy degree earned from any school as good as a top ten pharmacy school degree? We Answered:
The only thing that will hurt you as far as getting a job as a Pharmacist is concerned is not passing the Pharmacy Boards. A PharmD isn't a Registered Pharmacist unless the Boards are passed.Andre Said:

Become an actor after having a doctorate in pharmacy? We Answered:
As you said, you have nothing to lose. The issue is that the pharmacy job may interfere with either auditions, which tend to be during the day, or else with performances, which, if on stage, would be at night; or filming, which can go 16 hours plus per day. So you'd probably want to try to find a part-time pharmacist job, which would give you more flexible work hours, so you could audition and etc. You'd want to check into such possibilities re: part-time work, or flexible hours and etc., in this field, in LA. In my region, it's possible. The other option is to get your degrees, move to LA, work as a pharmacist there for a while, and save every penny you can. Take some acting classes while you're there, to keep up your acting credentials, and do some community theater. Then, when you're ready, take time off from pharma, and use that 1-2-3 year period to really try to break into acting. If it doesn't work, then you go back to pharma. But don't save up for too long, as you want to try to get into acting while you still look young, especially if you're female. There's more flexibility on that if you're male.
To prepare for the possible acting career, while you're in pre-pharm, do electives in acting, and participate in all sorts of on-campus and off-campus acting work. You'll want to go to LA after actually having *some* training acting, and with an acting resume, or you'll be at a serious disadvantage. So make sure some of your electives are acting (you could even minor in it), and you do lots of acting-related extra-curriculars. You may even want to seriously consider doing one summer as a co-op for your pharmacy degree, and another summer acting in summer stock, thus getting professional-level credits in both fields.
I actually don't think your plan is unrealistic. Why not try? You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
Actually, there's a very well respected professional theater in KY, the Actor's Theater of Louisville. I wonder if, even now, while in high school, you can't do some volunteer work there, just to get some behind the scenes experience in a real theater? If you're still in high school now, and not just about to graduate, also start, if you don't already do this, auditioning for your school plays, and for community theater in your region.
