New York Pharmacy Jobs

Jimmy Said:

How can we safely dispose of unused prescription medications?

We Answered:

The government's new policy includes:

* Take unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs out of their original containers
* Mix the prescription drugs with an undesirable substance, like used coffee grounds or kitty litter, and put them in impermeable, non-descript containers, such as empty cans or sealable bags, further ensuring that the drugs are not diverted or accidentally ingested by children or pets
* Throw these containers in the trash
* Flush prescription drugs down the toilet only if the accompanying patient information specifically instructs it is safe to do so
* Return unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs to pharmaceutical take-back locations that allow the public to bring unused drugs to a central location for safe disposal

New York Institute of Photography...pls any advice (are they credited)?

We Answered:

Seek out and join your local camera club. It will take up less of your time, you will learn more and it will be WAY cheaper. Plus you'll meet some like minded people.

Those $300 studio kits are garbage.

Questions about NEW YORK UNIVERSITY?

We Answered:

Sorry, but as far as I know (and I did check this), they offer neither programs. Actually, they do have ONE engineering program in Operations Research, but that's it.

NYU is expensive, but not out of the ordinary for a good university--it's about 47K a year with room and board. The average financial aid package is 23K, which includes about 5k of loans. That is just the average, depending on how much money your family makes/has, it could be much higher or lower. You can also seek out scholarships, both connected to NYU and not. I mean that many private organizations have scholarships you can apply for.

It's in New York City, so of course there will be places to work and make money nearby.

Do as much advance work as you can.
Its true anywhere, its really helps here.
If you already have a job lined up, that helps a huge amount.
Leave your money in a bank at home and use an ATM. Cash burns fast on the street.
If you have real talent with your art,and are dedicated to it, no you cant make money with it.
There are 100 guys on the sidewalk matted selling prints of art and photos.
They buy it wholesale and sell it all day long, everyday. Nice hobby, no money.
Be prepared to work outside your field of training for living expenses.
Get a map. Familiarize yourself with the 5 counties that make up the city.
Be prepared to live outside Manhattan to save money.
A 1 bedroom apartment with utilities included can easily approach or even top $1000 a month, with 2 months rent as a security deposit and 1 months rent as a fee to the real estate agent. Bye $4k.
A 20 oz Coke in a bottle is between $1.25 and $2.00 in a bodega (convenience store)
McDonald's # 1 is about $7. Subway ride is $2.25 and a monthly pass is going up to $104.00 soon.

Say you live in Queens and work in Manhattan
You will spend $5 just to get to work and back (if its 1 bus or train)
Breakfast about $4. Breakfast sandwich,coffee,newspaper.
Lunch $5 - $15 some days you get hot dogs from the cart some days you order a wrap and a salad.
Dinner $10-$15 and you aren't eating fancy, diner or someting like it.

Forget a car, you can't park it anywhere in Manhattan for less than rent in Oklahoma, plus insurance, payments, registration and its a pain to park when you get it home.
Maybe a bike, but it gets cold buddy, wet and cold. Try 1 winter before you get that Harley.

You still don't have a girlfriend, and haven't been clubbing yet.

Youre smart, you'll figure it out before long. There must be a way.
Millions of us do it, so there must be a way. There is, just keep plugging along and dont wait for opportunity to knock, always be alert for a chance for advancement.

Good luck ,Cowboy.

Lucy Said:

Pharmacy technician as a part time job for a college student?

We Answered:

How about working it from both angles? Why wait to start applying for the jobs til you are licensed. Maybe they'll have you be a register clerk until you are licensed. etc. Either way, the most important thing you can do is make a game-plan get the ball rolling. Every good plan has a contingency plan on page 2. I say go for it

Also, yes - finding a PT Job is actually easier than finding a FT position in most places.
