Tonya Said:
Is it possible to work as a 'Pharmacist' or trainee in USA?We Answered:
If you graduated before January 1, 2003, than possibly yes. If you graduated after that date than no.If you meet the educational requirements, you'll have to apply to the NABP and your state board of pharmacy. Some states do not allow internationals to be pharmacists. They will review the application, and if approved, you'll than take TOEFL and FPGEE. FPGEE is only offered twice a year at three locations. If you do not pass it by your second try, you have to reapply to the NABP/state board of pharmacy. If you pass both, you will go to your state board of pharmacy and get an internship approved. You have to practice as an intern, for a set number of hours. After that, you than take the regular pharmacist licensing exams: NAPLEX and MJPE. Pass both, and you are a licensed pharmacist. Most fail and the ones who do succeed, take years.
