Information on Being a Pharmacist.?We Answered:
You have to go to school a minimum of 6 years, although I expect that to become extended before long. You need get that 80% up to a 90% or better if you want to go to pharmacy school, as it's gotten uber-competitive to get admitted. The actual school part is very difficult, and requires a great deal of time and comittment. The job is not bad, and the pay is good. You can safely bet that just about anywhere you go, being a high school student, that after your time in school and going into practice, you will be making well into the 6 figures. Most full time pharmacist's already do. 6-8 years from now, when you would graduate, I expect to be making 30-35% (perhaps even more) more than I do now, meaning 140-150,000/yr. You'll need to make that much to pay back the massive student loans you will need to pay for 6+ years of tuition which increases 4-6%/yr. My loan payments consume over 30% of my monthly gross at this point which is ridiculous. Long story short, I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't do it again.Thelma Said:

Try going to this website: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos079.htmIt will tell you everything you want to know about being a pharmacist from salary range to nature of the work, hours, and environment, to educational requirements. The occupational handbook is a surprisingly good source of information.

http://www.bls.gov/home.htmGo here, this is a government website with a lot of the general information you are looking for.
Just look up pharmacist.
You have to be good at chemistry (science). There is math involved as well (I believe it goes up to calculus? Don't remember). You also need classes on interpersonal communication (I found that odd) so I guess getting along with people is important. The website has a lot of good info.
