Pharmacist Jobs In Michigan

Velma Said:

Does the Detroit Medical Center hire pharmacists?

We Answered:

I'm certain that they probably do; I don't know of a medical center that doesn't have a pharmacy, which would require a pharmacist.
You could look on their webpage, if they have one, or call them and ask for the pharmacy dept's pharmacist on staff. They should be able to at least tell you who it is.
I used to work at this hospital, in Kalamazoo. It's a wonderful place to work:

Oh, and I would think that any of the big chains like Walgreens or CVS or Rite-Aid would need a pharmacist sooner or later.

Will this impress colleges (University of Michigan)?

We Answered:

I wouldn't be worried about that at all. Michigan is a great school and their Pharmacy program is amazing, good luck. GO BLUE

Eddie Said:

College essay... can anyone give me feedback or corrections?

We Answered:

I like where you are going; however, I would suggest that you not dicuss your desire to study Pharmacy because of higher wages: to be honest, that is not the best way to answer the question. So, eliminate that and elaborate more on the helping people: that is a very strong part of the essay :).

Tommy Said:

Pharmacy technician job requirements?

We Answered:

Probably need to be 18. They WILL drug test. Customer service experience, or lab experience, depending on where you apply. Definitely looks good to have a high school degree, and I know that for the jobs I applied for I had to complete a math and English quiz thing to ensure that you're a relatively intelligent person. They want to make sure you are someone who can function in a health care setting where it is vital that you can perform math functions and can read and keep words and letter straight - a lot of the drug names can sound similar but be completely different.
Also, look into getting certified, that looks a lot better on job applications. Search for the PTCB website. That will help you out.
