Pharmacy Assistant Jobs

Peggy Said:

I have been in this Pharmacy assistant job for six years, how much notice am I required to give?

We Answered:

After being at a job for over 6 years.

It would be better to put in a 30 day notice, so this way they can plan a party for you, give you a higher leave pay, and an evaluation or recommendation for future reference. You leave on a happier note, and do not leave them with a gap in work.

If not interested in any of the above, then a 2 week notice would suffice.

What is the difference between Pharmacy Technision and a Pharmacy Assistant?

We Answered:

You need to take a Pharmacy Technician course. These courses are offered in school or online.Penn Foster is a good school. They will work out whatever payment plan you need even if it's only 20 dollars a month and you can get started as soon as you send your first payment. The course runs about 800-900 dollars usually but at certain times of the year they discount the course to 537 dollars. There's no difference between an assistant and a technician but you are more likely to be hired if you are certified.Penn Foster does not offer the certification exam but they will pay for it where ever you choose to take it-it's included in your price!

Gene Said:

Whats up with trade schools like Bryman and ICDC? Medical Assistant? pharmacy tech? Are there jobs or a scam?

We Answered:

You do not really have to go to a school for a med asst or pharm tech job. Just apply at a pharmacy or dr's office and they will train you. If you can't find a job however, you can just purchase a study guide at a fraction of the cost of tuition, then take the test. (Passing the test makes you qualified.) Jobs like medical assistant and pharm tech are booming, but these jobs are not careers. These are more like temporary jobs for a progressing student.
