Depends on your state pharmacy laws but in general an assistant can take the prescription, take your information and take your money. I do not know anything about PA's, but I know Pharmacists. Where I work we have centralized pharmacist, and de-centralized. Central stay in the Pharmacy, while de-centralized work out on certain floors. This makes them accessible to Md's, nurses, family consults.There are also different Pharmacy areas/specialties: pedi, clinical, retail pharmacies, mail order (Care Mark).
