I have had a lot of difficulty with my mom in similar situations. It is fine to want to help a parent who is going through a difficult time but it is not fine to be an enabler. It sounds like your mom has a lot of personal problems that need to be worked out. From what you have said she shows poor decision making skills and is possibly a gambling addict. If you give her the money I think their is a good possibility of that money not being used responsibly. In addition to that the more you give her the less motivation she has to take up responsibility for her own life and you may get stuck paying her bills month after month. I think she needs your help getting a job and getting treatment for gambling addiction more than she needs a handout. I have been their for many years. Every time I tell my mom no she screams and insults me and tells me it is MY job as her daughter to take care of her but before I learned to say no every time I handed her money she just asked for more. Be their for your mom but remember, It is not your job to fix her mistakes. She got herself into this situation by making poor choices and she wont learn or change by having you show up and fix everything.

Please regularly read Employment News a Govt. of India publication about the jobs/recruitment's in different departments of central Govt including Railways. You can not get a direct job in Indian Railways, the selection is done through written exam and interview by Railways Recruitment Board.

If you work in a hospital pharmacy, you will have limited contact with the public if any at all. If you do not want contact with patients and customers and the like, this is the way to go.

Go to a pharmacy in person, ask to speak to the pharmacy manager and ask them if they are hiring. Try to make a good impression on this person, as this likely will be the person who would be interviewing you and deciding whether to hire you or not. I've worked in pharmacy for a long time, and the majority of technicians who were hired were the ones who had connections (they got recommended by someone who worked there) or they made a great impression on the manager and showed that they really wanted to work there. If you do get an interview, at the end of the interview ask when it would be appropriate for you to call them to find out about their decision, because this also shows that you are serious about wanting the job. Good luck!

Oh, and as for hospital pharmacy... that might be a lot harder to get into, because they have a lower tech turnover rate.

It is not necessary to go through 200 hours of classroom study to pass the PTCB, no. With what you have said about being a Biology major and having some Chem under your belt, you will already have a head start, since 65% of what needs to be learned for the PTCB is Math.
