Pharmacy Job Description

Customer Service Assistant - Pharmacy, interview help?

We Answered:

You already have a great insight into the medical aspects from an earlier contributor, albeit with a US slant. I suggest you visit Boots, Lloyds and any other chemists/pharmacists locally to see what they are like, unless you already know.

At your age, and at Sainsbury's, they will want a helpful, friendly, and well groomed person (no visible tattoos or piercings) who is intelligent, accurate, and follows rules carefully. They may ask you about any previous jobs, even delivering newspapers, and about people you interact with, like friends and neighbours. Anything notable you have done outside school will help. You might play a sport, belong to a club, organise fundraising for charity, anything?!

They may ask a few questions like: Tell us about a time you encountered a difficult person/worked in a team/had to check the accuracy of something. The purpose is to elicit how you reacted and what you did in that situation, being one which you might encounter in the store.

Relatively few people attending a Pharmacy will be your age, so you will need to act more mature than (say) a mobile phone shop assistant.

Good luck!

What types of Jobs are in Pharmacy?

We Answered:

With a Pharmacy Degree, aside from what you listed, you can work for Pharmaceutical Companies doing:
Analytical Chemistry- Analysis of Raw Materials and pharmaceutical products.
Formulation Chemistry- This is where you calculate and oversee the amount of active ingredient and additives that are put into pharmaceutical products.
Process Engineering- Oversee Processes to make products.
Clinical Trials- giving products to test subjects and producing data from it.
As far as acoustician I have no idea. It sounds like a Hearing Technician.

These are just a few of the things you can do. If you have a Pharmacy License you may be eligible for supervisory positions.

Job description of Pharmacy. (20 points)?

We Answered:

Hi :)

Pharmacists dispense prescription drugs to people who come in with a written prescription from a medical doctor. They provide information about the drugs they are giving to the patients and help them to understand how to take the medication. They explain side-effects, cost issues, and what happens when a re-fill is needed. They monitor their patients' health and progress to make sure their medications are working effectively and safely, usually by calling them at home and asking them how they are doing. A patient should feel comfortable coming to a pharmacist with questions regarding their medications.

Hope that was what you're looking for :)

What's the process in obtaining a Pharmacy Tech License?

We Answered:

No classes are required. You just need to pass the certification exam within 2 years of receiving the license. If you don't, your license will become void. This is a new regulation.
Most hospitals will not hire techs under the age of 18 though.

what is a good website that has detailed job descriptions?

We Answered:

Monster.com

most college career centers will have good links

I don't work in either field, but I would start my search at Monster.com, it helped me to find a job in my field when finishing my masters degree.
