Pharmacists in Ireland typically have degrees in Pharmacy, not diplomas. Also, they must be Registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. Salaries are usually between €40,000 - €60,000 (<3yrs experience) and between €50,000 - €100,000 (>3yrs experience). I'm sure if you look hard enough, you'll be able to find a job in pharmacy in Ireland, but as you know, there are many different types of pharmacists (ambulatory, clinical, community, government, home care, hospital, industrial, nuclear, research, etc) with a resulting many different types of salaries.

When they say 2-5 years experience, they mean retail experience. I have *never* met a hospital tech that was hired without slaving away in retail for a few years first.

As far as being a pharmacy tech, employers are looking for experience first, then education. If you don't need to have formal education to work as a tech in your state, you are wasting your money.
