Pharmacy Tech Degree with a Bio BS?

We Answered:

If you have a degree - or any alternative qualification - then you'll already be ahead of the bunch when it comes to hunting for careers. My pal has a degree and he wasn't certain what direction to go with it, but he unearthed some great tips on the website in the resource box below which aided him to settle that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is lots of help on the website regarding alternative careers.

What can a chemical engineer do? Please read entire question?

We Answered:

When you think of "industry" what comes to mind? I and ex-co-workers have been in "industry", but we have done things like product development on computer memory, introducing the first inexpensive high-capacity storage media, developed a catalyst that makes storing and transporting nuclear materials safe, become Marketing VP of a mulinational coatings and adhesives company, developed a substitute frying oil that has very low cholesterol, been sales director for one of the largest high-tech companies on earth, developed processes for turning dairy waste to methane and then sold the gas to a major manufacturer on long-term contract, cut manufacturing costs in half by reusing energy already on site and improving yield of the product, figured how to coat pharmaceuticals with less yield loss, designed piping and equipment layout for a new refinery, implemented safety and health practices at factories cutting incident rates by 90% (and hugely improving product quality and the work environment). All of this with a BS in chemistry and no grad work. So, you can do anything you want.

What type of job/internship should I look into if I plan to attend PA School after college?

We Answered:

That's a good start from where you are. Usually most college programs of that field may require an internship as part of the program for graduation. However, I'm not too familiar with a school that offers Physicians Assistant as a program. Is this a 2 year or 4 year degree? If it's a 2 year degree from a vocational type of school then you will still need to pursue a 4 year degree before you can pursue any Masters Degree. Assuming you are attending PA school after college like you said then that would mean you already have or considered a 4 year degree then it is much easer to enter a master programs after PA school.

Patrick Said:

She got into a PA school, I didn't. With using my sources and knowledge, I helped her alot with application?

We Answered:

it just seems like way things happen. It might not seem fair, but she is obviously more aggressive and that's why she got accepted. Perhaps you are a little too timid. She managed to get the application done, do the work and get the referrals even if it was with your help. She may feel bad that you did help her so much and you did not get accepted and perhaps that's why she's not speaking to you any longer. But if you have applied 3 times and this was her first try then that means you had TWO TIMES to get yours right and you still didn't do it. You might want to consider moving on. I know it sounds harsh- but it's honest.

PHARMACY violation by a phamacist and tech?

We Answered:

First I would like to help with your situation by stating that these people have no right at all to be accessing yours or anyone else's information unless it pertains to them. It is a violation. Nobody has the legal right to be looking at another employees profiles or making comments about an employees/ex employees medications, etc.
I think the comment about the blind man is simply mean and disgusting. How could anyone be so cruel let alone break the law by announcing to everyone around them that he cannot afford to pay his co-pay and telling him to get a job?! Does this person have any morals or values? First of all I would go directly to the store manager or supervisor and report her ***, do not leave out a single detail about her past/present behavior. Secondly, I would get in touch with someone who deals with Maine Pharmacy licensing (the board) and report this. I would demand that disciplinary action be taken. Last but not least, I would find a good attorney and file a lawsuit for defamation of character and violation of your right to privacy. People really can be cruel and dumb, the world is full of idiots like her.
