Pharmacy School Requirements Illinois?

We Answered:

I am sorry that you had such bad experience with your local pharmacists./ Try some others.

You will find below the requirements for pharmacy schools in Illinois. Call them and/or contact them and look at their admission requirements. Catalogs may also help.

Good luck.

What are the requirements for Pharmacy school?

We Answered:

http://pharmacy.rutgers.edu/curricula/En…
that is the curriculum of rutgers university for the pharmacy program.
if you look at the first 2 years, those are the classes usually necessary to enter most pharmacy programs-
physics
calc 1 and 2
gen. bio
gen chem
organic chem
labs for all of the above
physiology...
if you already have a degree that is a big plus, most of the transfers into my school have a degree in biology, but most will not let you enter unless you take those necessary courses at an accredited university.

if you have more questions let me know..best of luck

What are the requirements for Direct Pharmacy School?

We Answered:

it depends on the schools you are looking at. the direct pharmacy program that you are referring to is a 0-6 program. what that means is that if you are accepted you begin pharmacy straight out of high school, no reapplication and you don't have it take the PCATs, a standardized test for admission into pharmacy school.

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia is a 0-6 program and all they look at is grades.
Ohio Northern University looks at your grades, volunteer hours, activities and also invites you for an on campus interview and essay.

Very few schools are still 0-6 programs. Most have gone to a 2+4 program, where you take two years of pre-pharmacy and then reapply for a four year pharmacy school.

For a pharmacy major the minimum years of college is six.
