Lonnie Said:

Can I be a Pharmacy Tech after completing PTI?

We Answered:

Most states do not require that you pass the PTCE. The state will conduct a background check. You will not be granted an automatic license like most people. The rule about taking the exam says one must be convicted of a felony and it doesn't say anything about being arrested.

Samantha Said:

How can I become a pharmacy tech?

We Answered:

I was a pharmacy tech before going to pharmacy school, and yes it helped get in and while I was in school. I designed a website to help people become pharmacy technicians it is at http://www.pharmacytechnicianhq.com/. The first thing you need to do is figure out your state's requirements. If you are lucky, you can get by with just national certification. Check out the certification page for the best way to do this. Let me know if you have questions and best of luck.

Brittany Said:

pharmacy tech in a hospital?

We Answered:

Hospitals usually look for at least 1 - 3 years of retail experience when hiring techs. I have never heard of any tech working in a hospital who hadn't been in retail for at least a year first.

Clifford Said:

Is there a educational requirement for a pharmacy tech certification or just a test?

We Answered:

you can just take the test if you are working, in a pharmacy for example.....that's what I did. I was working at Walgreens..and they paid for the test. I didn't take any classes...but they gave me some information to review...

FYI: it's not a high paying job if you are considering this as a career....retail you'll probably make about $10/hr certified..and in a hospital...maybe 12-14.

Discuss It!
