You don't need to go to school to get a pharmacy technician's license in the state of Illinois. All you need to do is to fill out a form and send $40. Very few pharmacies in the Chicago area are hiring pharm techs at this moment, though.

You don't need a diploma to work as a pharmacy tech in Illinois. All you need is to be 16 years old. You won't get paid any more if you complete a program versus someone who just applies with no experience. Right now, there is a great surplus of pharm techs in the Chicago area. It is very hard for them to find full-time jobs.
