DO NOT go to college for pharm tech! You dont need to! Go to any local CVS, Walmart, or RiteAid and apply for a pharmacy tech job. Most are willing to train you on the job and some will pay for the national board test!
I got a job when I was 19 at CVS. They started me out as a pharm associate (meant I really just worked on the cash registers). Then after training I became a pharm tech. I also worked at Brooks which is now riteaid.

Walgreens seems to only hire certified pharm techs. But other retail pharmacies are willing to train. Going to a training school is a waste of time unless no store will hire you. But apply to as many pharmacies as you can first!
You only make slightly above minimum wage and you deal with a lot of angry, mean customers. And you have to stand your whole shift (except your 30 min lunch break). So 8 hours of standing and running around.

To be a pharmacy tech you don't have to be certified if you're gonna work in a retail pharmacy like Rite Aid or Walgreens. Some have an age requirement of 18 so you need to ask your local pharmacy. I think if you're going to work in a clinic or hospital you will have to be certified and I believe you get paid more in retail pharmacies more than hospitals it's usually that way for actual pharmacists so I believe it would apply to the techs too.

Certification isn't usually required for a pharmacy tech because you do get on-the-job training at some places. The job is also considered a normal hourly job at Rite Aid.

Don't bother with applying online they never check if for pharmacy tech jobs. You're better off applying at individual stores or finding the number for the company's regional hiring manager..
