Viola Said:
can i use a Pharmacy Technician degree from Penn Foster in the state of SC?We Answered:
"Pharmacy Technician " is not a degree.Leo Said:
does anyone knows whats the book i have to study to get the pharmacy technician degree/?We Answered:
I am unsure what the book is but there are online training programs out there that are self paced. So it would be like reading an online book. The cost will be more than a book though, like $1800. But you would have that credential to put on your resume.Roberta Said:
Does anyone know where I can get the Pharmacy technician degree for part time in Canada? We Answered:
Your community college should have it, lots in Ontario, but you should read more about pharmacy tech and if it is for you. Usually if you go to a community college you can apply in the hospital right away or go to a private school, more expensive and get 2 yrs training through a retail pharmacy. It's not for everybody so read up and ask people that work in one, I was one for 4 yrs.Monica Said:
pharmacy technician degree????We Answered:
The Pharmacy Technician is what is framed as a para-professional degree, which aligns to the Associate of Science Degree; and so in that respect one can rightly say his or her degree is in that of the Pharmacy Technician, and this would not be technically incorrect.A "para" anything says that the individual is indeed a professional but after a fashion: it bears the body of the full-blown compliment but is not yet ready to wear the crown and wield of full responsibilities as required for that field, which in this instance is often a consort to physicians, dentists, and other licensed or registered health practitioners.
The bachelor's degree is the true foundation of the pharmacist -- but if and only if he or she has become in tandem a registered pharmacist, R.Ph., similar to that of a nurse's track, which is the R.N. The Pharmacist terminates at the doctoral level, the Pharm. D., which are usually framed as pharmacologists.
What your question appears to ask is, might an A.S. degree qualify a person to fulfill the eligibility to test for and acquire an R.Ph. 'without' having a B.S. degree in Pharmacy? I think not.
I have not met one person who bears the R.Ph. who does not have as well a B.S. degree; whereas nurses are not required to have a B.S. degree in Nursing to be registered and held as fully professional.
This is a commentary on supply and demand, however. That is, it is more ado about the field of Business than the field of Medicine.
Be careful in terms of requisite courses if you are pursuing the B.S. in Pharmacy. The first two years of the Associate's track prerequisites may differ from that of the Bachelor's track in terms of the physical and life science courses. You may have to re-track and re-take certain courses to become aligned to the Bachelor's degree. For example, an Associate's track may require two distinctive chemistry courses (each 1 semester), whereas the Bachelor's may require a linear series of chemistry courses -- from Gen Chem (1 year) through Organic Chemistry (also 1 year), and perhaps one course in Physics and perhaps 1 year of Gen Biology.
Ensure that you check with a counselor for the Pharmacy degree track. Some prerequisites can differ slightly.

Is it possible to volunteer at a pharmacy without a pharmacy technician degree? We Answered:
My friend was a pharmacy tech at CVS witthout any type of degree. It's basically just counting pills and cashing out customers, there is always a lisenced pharmacist working.Clayton Said:
Should i earn my pharmacy technician degree in a college or in a technical school? What's the diference? We Answered:
Your probably better going to a technical school, I received my license and certification from a tech. school in 4 months.and I received the same valuable information from it.
a community college sometimes has you taking extras classes. But if you want to go on with the Pharmacy program like a pharmacist then go to a college.
tech, school you will find all over offering the course and alot less then college.
good luck.
