There are pharmacy tech certification courses offered by private schools and community colleges. The college where I have taught biology doesn't have a pharmacy tech program. However, I have been the adviser for preforms students and can give you information about the prerequisites for the Pharmacy Schools.

To apply to Pharmacy Schools, you need the following classes:

General Biology for Majors I & II
General Microbiology for Majors
General Chemistry I & II
Organic Chemistry I & II
College Physics I & II
Maths through Calculus
Each Pharmacy College may have other requirements such as accounting, state degree requirements.

A high GPA is necessary to get your application considered!
Having a good knowledge of what a pharmacist does is an asset during the personal interview before the admissions committee.

Go into pharmacy! They make BANK! When you get tired of being one you can go work in a pharmaceutical company. Lots of opportunities after you have some experience. You need to study logic, physics, and organic chemistry. Teaching is low pay and you're outnumbered by a pack of ADD and ADHD children. I have high regard for teachers but the crap they have to put up with is soooo not worth it.

There is no need for formalized pharmacy tech education. The pharmacy will teach you all you need to know. You will not be able to recoup the cost.
