Yeah that sounds about right. When I started as a tech at CVS I made $7.35/hr, then a couple months later when I was CERTIFIED I started at $8.50/hr and it doesnt look like its going to go up from there. All of the techs I work with make $8.50 also and they have been there for quite a few years... one girl that has been there for 15 years only makes $10/hr... If you want to make more, take the national test (I would, but I HATE my job! I do not want to be doing this forever by any means!) and Kroger could set you up with that, and then apply at a hospital. A girl who was fired from CVS that I worked with went on to a hospital and now she's making $13.50/hr. Good luck!! :)

That is really up to the discretion of the business. Most internships are linked to a credit-course and will not pay a dime. But if you have flexibility, look into places in your area that offer internships...they will tell you up front how this issue is handled.

My cousin ( she's 18) is a pharm-tech @ Walgreens and makes around $9 an hour. She didn't go to school, they trained her on sight. This is in the state of CT. The pay for this position doesn't really go that high. Highest I've heard of is like maybe like $11/12...

Starting out, most techs in retail are only paid min. wage or just above it. If you are certified, you can earn a few dollars an hour more.

Hospitals usually look for 3+ years retail experience, but that's where big money can be made. . .usually upwards of $20.00/hr in my state. To put that in perspective, our min. wage is $8.06.
