Make copies of your resume and take them with you when you go to other pharmacies. Ask if any positions are currently available.
If they say no ask if you can fill out an application or leave them a copy of your resume just in case a position does become available.

Most larger companies request that you simply submit a resume online. To be honest, I have never submitted a cover letter when applying for a job - and it hasn't really stopped me from getting the job.

Just build your resume using your school's info. and any previous work experience. Since you are new, start looking to volunteer/intern to build up experience. Most programs will find you a job even before you finish the program & become certified. Larger hospital pharmacies pay more and offer a variety of positions than retail pharmacies. Personally I would suggest that you start interning in a hospital pharmacy. Most likely they will consider hiring you once a position opens up since they are familiar with your work ethic.

Tips for the exam. Since you're new to pharmacy, be sure you are familiar with pharmacy math (ratios, proportions, etc.) as well as brand/generic names, drug classes & a small amount of law regarding narcotics, CII refills, forms, etc. The test will incorporate parts of retail as well as hospital settings.

They do a urine test for opiates, marijuana, stimulants, cocaine, methamphetamine--the works. If you're into drugs, you probably shouldn't work in a pharmacy. The temptation would just be too great. If you knew you were going to have to take a test and didn't "study" for it, you really don't belong in that kind of job.
