Roles Of Pharmacist

Billie Said:

what is the role of pharmacist in the inspection of counterfeit medicines?

We Answered:

The pharmacist is usually the last professionally-qualified person to handle the medicine before it is handed to the patient. Therefore, they are in a unique position to be the guardian of drug quality. The pharmacist should therefore inspect all medicines very carefully before dispensing, looking for unfamiliar packaging features, suspicious appearance, altered batch numbers or use-by data.

There are a number of technologies which are being piloted to aid this process, including RFID (radio tags) and printed codes (often 2D matrix codes). These allow the pharmacist to scan the code and to authenticate the pack-specific coded information against a central database. Authentic drugs are validated and suspected counterfeits (as well as expired or recalled drugs) are highlighted before dispensing.

The role of the pharmacist will increase in future as counterfeit attempts become more sophisticated. This is one of the key dangers of bypassing the pharmacist in buying prescription meds online woithout a prescription - not a good idea.

Pharmacists should also be alert for patients reporting adverse reactions to medicines. These may occasionally be due to counterfeit drugs. The drug supply in developed countries is fairly safe if you go to a recognised pharmacy, but continuous vigilance by all parties is needed to keep it that way.

what do u think of the minor role of pharmacists nowadays ?

Cynthia Said:

Medicines are not ordinary items of commerce. What should be the pharmacist's ethical stance?

We Answered:

A pharmacist is the next person you go to after visiting a doctor that gives you a prescription, you must put you`r trust in that person for giving you the medicine you need, there is verywell an ethical isue to practecing this line of work, but they still have a preaty good training in college, on what drugs they can make and give to customers, it`s like the doctors choice to let a person be when they know that they can`t do anything more for them, the fharmacist`s must face the the same problems when they`r placed in a position of being able to help a person but knowing they can`t because that person dosen`t have the proper legal right to get some special prescripsion drugs.

role of pharmacist?

We Answered:

In reality *** all will change in the next five years because it takes government and the health industry longer than that to decide when they are going to order lunch at the next meeting.... but in a job interview just say something more like "I see the role of the pharmacist becoming far more pivotal within the community & they will be given more freedom to make informed decisions about a patients medicetion" or some b0ll0cks like that.... an interviewer loves that shite!!! stroke thier ego as if it were thier pecker and you've got yourself a job...

Good luck...
