South Carolina Pharmacy Jobs

Keith Said:

Liberty Mutual wants to hire me as a manager but I have NO EXPERIENCE?

We Answered:

they are probably talking about selling insurance on 100% commission - unless you are really comfortable getting rejected 98% of the time, making 100's of phone calls a week, don't waste your time

you have to study for and take a life insurance test - the test is not difficult, I got an 89 on it ion Penna after only taking a one day 8 hr cram course, but is that what you really want to do with your life

Harold Said:

what should I major in: nursing or pharmacy?

We Answered:

First of all, I would suggest you call around to local hospitals and ask to "shadow" an RN for a day....I would do this with several hospitals and ask to be in several areas (ED, Critical Care, MEd/Surg). Since your biggest concern appears to be money, you need to find out what an RN really does before you go off to school to be one. Also, keep in mind, that you will need at least 3-4 years in Critical Care as an RN (with a BSN) prior to applying to a CRNA school.

Both jobs are pretty much safe throughout a recession (as we have currently seen) and your main focus needs to be on whether you want a scientific approach to a career in the medical field (pharmacy) or if you want to provide hands-on care for people when the are ill, injured, or going through living changing events (childbirth).

Tracy Said:

Should I get a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering or get in the Pharmacy program?

We Answered:

I personally would look at how pharmacist feel about their jobs (there is high job disatisfaction)

On the plus side at least for the current time pharmacists will be assured employment (though many believe that this will not be the case in 15 or 20 years, but it could just be Chicken Little types)

I personally would get the biomed degree as it is not only far more impressive, but has many many more job prospects upon graduation. And if you like money then Biomed is definitely the right fit for you.

Pharmacist vs. Anesthesiologist...Help PLEASE!!!!!!?

We Answered:

They both have the same -BASIC courses required---all science base programs require the bio, chem, org. chem, calc., etc...you have about another year to decide.

My uncle was a pharmacist--he taught at UH.edu he LOVED it. He said it was a job he could come home and not think about.

both occupations are wonderful choices---maybe shadow each profession for a week or so to see what the job really is like.
