Most retail pharmacies will hire you even if you aren't certified, but they will usually expect you to become certified within a certain time period (they will pay for the test you have to take).

All you have to do is go to the PTCB.ORG website, register for the exam, and take it.
I went to one of those overpriced trade schools and it wasn't until the end did I find out all I had to do was take an exam by the PTCB. It's call the PTCE. Forget the whole school thing,

Just register for the exam, buy a book called Mosby's PTCE review from Barnes and Nobles and pass the test. Then once you pass register with the state. That's it.

After that volunteer at a local pharmacy and you're done!

To take the PTCB exam, you must have a high school diploma or GED. Those are pretty much the only requirements to take the exam. My guess is that the minimum age is 18.
