Can a family of 3 survive on 2000 pounds a month in London, or are we committing suicide?

We Answered:

Since rent is covered by your company for 6 months, does that mean you will be only living in London for 6 months, or you have 6 months to get on your feet before you have to start paying rent for yourself? I think either way it will be tight but manageable. I live in reasonable 2-bed flat in a great area of town that costs about £1200 a month. It would be a good area in which to have a young kid (the Kensington area west of the city proper) and there are a number of different styles of housing options. But beyond that you have to make a call as to whether £200 a week (the left over) can support you. Keep in mind:
- A week travel card (unlimited bus and tube travel for a week) is £24 per person
- Food for a family will probably be between £60-80 per week
- Household goods and travel around the UK would be additional.

One way to get around high costs of entertainment is to take a look at the event listings site http://www.spoonfed.co.uk or get a copy of Time Out magazine. Both list lots of free events and family events in and around the city. Good luck!

Medication and Contact Lenses?

We Answered:

Just reading up on that med on a medical site...it says it MAY stain the lenses, but there is no mention of any other possible problem by wearing them.

So, by what it says, there shouldn't be a problem for you to use them for a few hours, the worst that will happen is that you may lose those lenses afterward.

How fast they MAY stain is a good question that isn't answered, but I doubt it would be within a few hours , and even then, they wouldn't become opaque.

This shows you the importance of having good back-up glasses though.

Contact Lenses and phenazopyridine?

We Answered:

Swan,

As you know, I am NOT a doctor, so please don't take this as medical advice. However, since you just started using it, I cannot see the harm in one day's use (or a couple of hours) of your contacts with this prescription.

I went onto a website called www.drugs.com and it said: "It is best not to wear soft contact lenses while being treated with this medicine. Phenazopyridine may cause discoloration or staining of contact lenses. It may not be possible to remove the stain. " So try it for one day and pop them in and out as needed.

Hope everything works out for you.

what are my rites as to workin in a chemist with a locum pharmacists?

We Answered:

It sounds like a communication problem here. Just swallow your pride, say it was obviously a mistake to pop into the pet shop when you were very ill and you won't make that mistake again.

Smile sweetly and you'll keep your job. Give them attitude and you'll be out on your ear.

Is it possible for a Canadian government to know that I have been to other country aside from my home country?

We Answered:

Yes. If ever there is some contradictions or inconsistencies in your declarations and statements some immigration examiner will check your background. If they got their attention and became very interested in your case, they will check everything about you. They have all the finances and capabilities to do that. If they found out that your not 100 percent telling the truth, that's when the problem starts. But some will just ignore it and toss it if it just minor.
If your friend wants to hide some facts then it's better that he will prepare for it and make it very very believable.

GOOD LUCK

How well do Saline Fleet Enemas work? I'm scared?

We Answered:

They do the job, don't be scared. You might feel some cramping.Stay close to the bathroom and drink lots of water. They do work. Follow directions, maybe put a towel underneath you and let the enema work. Really, nothing to be scared of. The first time for everything is usually scary. Good luck!
