Most likely the first place is looking at others for the position. Or at the very least considering you with others that are all suited for the job. If I were you I would take the $9 an hour position. Just because you are taking the job for less money doen't mean you are stuck there for life. You might even like the job and have the chance to move up in the company. a $9 an hour job is much better than no job. Go for it and good luck!
