Best Physical Therapy Schools

Cathy Said:

what are the best schools for physical therapy?

We Answered:

Loma Linda University in Southern California. You have direct access to their hospitals, as well as one of the most respected rehabilitation hospitals in the area (Robert Ballard Rehab). It is a Seventh-Day Adventist (Christian) based school, however, I have found it to be a great school despite being a non-Sevent Day Adventist. The coursework is challenging, and the instructors are well-known in the medical community. Here is their website if you would like further information: http://www.llu.edu/llu/sahp/pt/

best physical therapy school?

We Answered:

I suppose that depends on where you wish to practice and in what setting. I think very highly of Northwestern Grads for neuro-type problems. While many schools in New York will offer great programs that have manual therapy education. Slippery Rock historically has a good program.

A good indicator of a program is how well students are prepared to take the licensing exam. (If you can't pass the licensing exam, it does you no good, right). An accredited PT program that have an average first pass rate higher than 85 or 90% can be considered "good" by many people's standards. This is a statistic you can ask a program to which you are interesting in applying.
