Leona Said:

Is there a difference between the college major of Physical Therapy and Therapeutic Recreation?

We Answered:

A physical therapy program is at the master's level. So, when you go to college you could major in therapeutic recreation and get your bachelor's degree. After that, you could apply to a master's program in physical therapy to become a physical therapist. Remember to keep your grades up because most physical therapy programs are highly competitive.

Cheryl Said:

what college offers physical therapy program?

We Answered:

No, San Diego State does not offer PT. Yet, there is no reason you cannot complete your undergraduate degree there.

You can find a list of all accredited PT programs at:

Irma Said:

Is CSU Northridge a good college for Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

Here is a website for US colleges: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ

For the American Physical Therapy Association: http://www.apta.org and they should have info on accredited schools.

It is such a competitive field to get into with the prospective student needing a 4.0 gpa in prereq's and in overall gpa that just about any school that is accredited with the industry is a good bet :) It used to be said that PT school was more difficult to get accepted into than medical school! I would look into at least a few different schools for physical therapy (slightly different than kinesiology which is the study of movement but along the same lines) since there is such keen competition to gain entry into such a program.
