Don Said:

Can I get into the Physical Therapy field with no prior experience and no degree?

We Answered:

Some Physical Therapy practices use what's called Physical Therapy Aides. Not to be confused with physical therapy assistants, Physical Therapy Aides are typically unlicensed people with on-the-job training. They can help with preparation of equipment, preparing areas, clerical work, and other important tasks in the office. What unlicensed personnel can do in a physical therapy practice varies from state to state, but an aides participation in actual clinical, hands-on procedures can be very limited.

Aides often make about 1/2 the pay a licensed assistant can make, and they are in higher demand. The PTA degree is well worth it, if you can stick it out.
