Medical job without heavy lifting? We Answered:
first thing that pops into my head is pharmacy.i almost went that route. but decided to go with emergency medicine instead.
reasoning, is that i did a job shadow for a day, with a pharmacist. i got his insight, and watch him do his job
i walked away, with the knowledge that it is the most boring/repatative job in the health-field today. of course there important, and 1 slight miscount in dosage could kill someone. it is still repatative and boring (this is actually what the pharmacist told me)......
it sounds like it might suit you, atleast for now. alot of pharmacys need pharmacy tech's. catch is that your standing all the time. but atleast doing a few months at that job, you'd walk away with a good refrence, and a foot in the door, that leads you into the medical world

Athletic Majors Anyone? 10 points for most helpful answer. thanks for taking the time to read?We Answered:
Hi, I have been involved in setting up two specialised gyms in Australia. Also affiliated with 'Lets Go Girls' a group for socially disadvantaged mums to be or new mums.Obviously the first thing is to assess each individuals health and health of the child...any complications from serious to simple odema?
Then tailor a program for that person and what they wish to achieve, such as movement, fitness or new mum belly and weightloss.
I have found the mums to like mat work and fitballs, they feel safe with a lower centre of gravity and aren't afraid of falling, although they may need a rail or chair to help them up. Therobands are great for simple stretching and pilates movement.
New mums usually like to get going to burn the baby kilos, but many forget about stretching and warming up. They also tend to do short bursts on equipment. You need to reinforce the need for cardio burn times eg 25 minutes in an elevated heart rate zone. Light toning is also good, free weights tend to require to much technique for this group, so so equipment may be needed to target the problem zones. Back strength is also extremely important for this group.
Another suggestion is co-locating with childcare facilities or near a local school.
Young mums groups also can be linked to encourage the mums to get out with their kids in strollers and - Lets Go Girls !!

stress fractures in ankles?We Answered:
My sister had a stress fracture in her ankle. She went to the athletic trainer at our school. A week or 2 later my dad scheduled a doctor appt for her. All they did was give her and x-ray and everything came back perfectly fine. Stress fractures dont come up on x-rays. They come up on bone scans. What did your physical therapist say bout them?Annie Said:
Do you feel that insurance companies should cover the best or just the minimal health services? We Answered:
I think it's ideal to provide best care, but it needs to be done in a manner that is consistent with outcomes based measures. Many people (the general population) think it's "best care" to have knee surgery (for example), but recent studies have shown that this isn't always the case. In otherwords, the most technologically advanced care doesnt' always lead to better outcomes...a concept that is hard to grasp for the general population. As another example, the over use of MRIs. Patients are going into their physicians office downright demanding an MRI when they have back pain. In reality, very few people actually necessitate an MRI and many of the things that are picked up on MRI are easily found with an appropriate mechanical assessment.Expensive tests and procedures often are perceived by the patient to be the "best" care, but in the end, they really do little to result in better outcomes. As a result, the cost of medical care is grossly inflated which leads to less "resources" for those with the needs that you mention. In the end, the cost of insurance goes up and the benefits it provides spiral ever downwards. Meanwhile, those who are self employed or widows (for example) who never worked are now forced into purchasing private healthcare which is out of the reach of most people. Even state subsidized private insurance such as I-chips is about $900 a month. Tell, me, who can really afford that? Instead, people spend down their life savings and go on public aid.
In the end, I think it's not a problem with the insurance companies (in some respects), its that medical care is provided on a fee for service paradigm and not based on outcomes. In otherwords, the provider gets paid more based on the number of things he/she does to you, not based on how successful was your treatement. As an example, I can see a patient for a rotator cuff problem, give them one or two simple exercise to do and get them better in about 6 visits. Whereas, someone down the street can make them come in for 45 minutes of exercise, an ultrasound and electrical stimulation for 10-12 visits and get the same results. In the end, the outcome is the same, but guess who gets paid more? In the meantime, the patient who got "more therapy" is often duped into thinking they got the "best" care.
So the issues go deeper than insurance reimbursement, it has to do with waste, misconceptions of the consumer, direct to consumer marketing in healthcare and fee for service payment structures.

i want to get back in shape using home equipment but i have limited use of left arm.?We Answered:
I would seek a medical specialist for a second opinion, a third, and a fourth opinion.I'd be a little careful of non medical experts giving advice here.
