Roberto Said:

BA for Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

True, you can get an undergrad in anything but you need the pre reqs. These include gen chem, gen physics, gen bio, A and P. (One year of each with labs). Math through calc, and psy.

Jessie Said:

Best undergraduate education for Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

Most pre-PT students are Biology majors or Kinesiology majors.

Some of the CSU's have Master's Degree programs in PT; HOWEVER, more than 90% of the PT programs in the US are now doctorate level degrees.

UCSF is the only UC that has a doctoral program at this time. Going there as an undergrad MAY help, but usually that is not necessary. It's all about GPA, GRE scores, experience with a PT, and perhaps some community service. That all matters much more than the major and the school. (although CSULB does have a pretty good reputation among the CSU's and all the UC's except Riverside have good reps also.)

Fyi- The MPT degree is being phased out. There are only a hand ful of programs. You need to earn a DPT (3 years beyond a BS)
