I'm so lost ... Need advice?

We Answered:

I know getting out of your house and going away seems like the best thing right now but since you are not recovered, and it sounds like you already know this, you should tell your parents and doctors the truth. Trust me you have years and years and years to be living away from home.

It's June right now, and you probably won't be leaving for school until August? That gives you almost 3 months to work on your eating disorder and cutting issues.

Your health is the most important thing and if you go and are not healthy, you will crash and burn and then you will be dragged back home and be in a even worse situation then you are now.

Just tell your parents that you are thinking of relapsing, if you don't want to tell them everything, and you need more help with your doctors before you leave for school.

I suffer from anxiety, I lived at home when it first started. I moved out and now 5 years later my anxiety is even worse then it ever was. And you know why, because no one was here to help me or see my progress. I could lie and say I was doing fine, no panic attacks etc... but it was all a big lie.

Don't let the same thing happen to you. Let people help you, you can't do it alone.

Good luck

Oh and PS, don't listen to the moron who answered first. He obviously doesn't have a brain cell in his head or else he would know the seriousness of this issue.

I had outpatient orthoscopic knee cartlidge debriedment 3 yrs ago now it really hurts badly. What can I do?

We Answered:

First for the pain use ice for fifteen minutes every hour when possible. That will reduce if not completely control the pain. You need to strengthen the muscles around the knee as much as possible. You are carrying a lot of weight and that is not going to help the knee. The amount of compressive forces on the meniscus are significant. So every pound that can be lost would greatly be appriciated by the knee. If you have access to a pool walking in chest high water would help the knee. Walk front, back, and to each side. Land based exercises should include isometrics, that is where you place a rolled up towel under the knee and push down onto the towel using the muscles of the knee. This can be done as much as you like. Terminal knee extension exercises, take a large can of something ( juicy juice, tomato juice, or another large can ) and place a towel around that. Place the injured knee on the can and using a one or two pound ankle weight slowly extend the knee. Do the movement slowly and hold it at the final point of extension. Do three sets of ten to fifteen repetitions. Standing on a 2x4 board of about eighteen inches in length with the injured leg's foot running the same way as the board. Extend the injured knee so that it is straight thereby lifting the opposite foot off the floor. Hold for one or two seconds and return to the floor. Do that between five and ten times. Using the ankle weights stand against a wall facing in to it. Bend the injured knee so that the heel of that foot comes up to your buttocks. Do that slowly fifteen times and rest. Do two more sets with rests in between sets. That should help you to get over this. You can also start on Glucosamine and Chondrotin. If there is no improvement ask for a referral to physical therapy so that they can work on the knee more intensely.
