Physical Therapy Associate Degree

Megan Said:

Associates degree in Physical/Occupational therapy Vs. BS degree in PT/OT?

We Answered:

Unfortunately in the US, PT or OT are no longer a BS degree. You either get a graduate degree as a therapist or an associates degree as an assistant. You can not get a BS in PTA or OTA. IT will take you 2 full years to become an assistant because the courses are taught in order. You may have less credit hours to take if you already if you already have an AS. ie your liberal arts would be done.

You should shadow therapist to see what you like. Also talk to therapists to see the salary difference in your area. The difference is quite large in my opinion.
