With an associate's degree in "pre-physical therapy," (although I've never heard of it), there really isn't any job you are particularly qualified for. A "pre-physical theapy program" is meant to steer you towards graduate school and, itself, is not a terminal degree.

With an applied associates of science in a physical therapist assistant program, this qualifies you to work as a physical therapist assistant. Salary is typically $35,000-$50,000

These programs will allow you to sit for the PTA exam not the PT exam. You need a DPT degree to become a PT

People who get AAS in PTA usually work as PT assistants. It is usually not a stepping stone or springboard to another degree or profession. It is highly specialized.

There are no accredited web-based programs in the US that result in the PTA degree. However, there are certificate programs for a physical therapy AIDE/TECHNICIAN which can be completed online...but for a $8-$10 an hour job, I hardly think it's worth it. Penn Foster offers such a certificate, but it is NOT the same job as a physical therapy assistant...it's mostly a clerical job.
