Was acceptance of gay people by the american psychiatric association based on science or guilt and activism?

Julie Said:

Do all physical therapists have to have a DPT degree now?

We Answered:

That is a lie. DPT treat patients everyday. I treat 85 percent of my day. The rest of the time is supervisng PTA, consults, phone calls, travel, coordinating care and paperwork. You will not work at a desk unless you are a manager and choose to do this. I hated middle management and when back to working with patients. Go shadow some PT and see what they do. DPT is the degree, PT is the profession. Visit the national PT website under the education section. www.apta.org.

Best wishes.

Tiffany Said:

how can i get a free tuition 2 college by majoring in occupational therapy??

We Answered:

That sounds about right. No organization is going to offer to pay for your tuition without strings attached. That 2-3 years is the strings! Try the department of education website or call them. Good luck!

Non-Accredited physical therapy school..what does it mean exaclty?

We Answered:

It means that you potentially can not become licensed once you graduate. I had a friend who went to an unaccredited school that was working on it. When she graduated, they did not get accredited so she would have need to go to another school and retake all of the classes over again. She choose another profession. I have other friends who went to a non accredited school that became accredited with their first graduating class. So it is like playing the lottery.

Also, in NY (maybe other states), medicaid will not reimburse for therapy of the by a PT or PTA that did not go to a CAPTE accredited school.

I personally would not like taking that risk.

APTA: American Physical THerapy Association...what does it mean when they say...?

We Answered:

You should be fine as long as it is not physics for non science major like a survey or intro.

You want courses that are considered general.

Any tips for applying for Physical Therapy school?

We Answered:

Yes, I would not even bother apply to schools with the minimum GPA of 3.0...your application will simply be tossed aside unless enrollment is REALLY low at a particular school.

Yet, what is your prerequisite GPA? You may still have a chance at schools where the overall minimum GPA is 2.75, if your minimum prerequisite GPA is higher.

Otherwise, I'd start retaking your prerequisites that are pulling down your GPA.
