Physical Therapy Colleges And Universities

Alicia Said:

Does anyone know of any mainland colleges/universities offering both nursing and physical therapy programs?

We Answered:

Nursing programs are pretty frequent...while PT programs are pretty rare. I'd start by looking at what schools offer PT and see which ones offer nursing also. Go to http://www.apta.org and go to the education programs section to get a list of all accreditted programs.

But for starters, I know Northern Illinois University offers both.

Ramona Said:

what are good colleges/universities that i could go to for Physical therapy?

We Answered:

Go to www.apta.org and you will find about 200 colleges offering accredited courses. Visit the sites of the ones that interest you & choose the course that suits you! I sent my daughter to Loma Linda University near LA, after her Bachelors in Physio from India & she has enjoyed every minute of the time spent there! This is a very exciting profession & all the best to you in your endevors!

What colleges (Private, State, and Universities) in California offer Pre-Physical Therapy as a major?

We Answered:

Pre PT really is not a major. SInce PT is a graduate degree, you can get a BS in anything at any college as long as you get the pre reqs in.

Visit www.apta.org.

Heather Said:

Can anyone please list any good colleges or universities in CA that offers Physical Therapy as a major?!?

We Answered:

Visit the website of the American Physical Therapy Association for info on PT careers and education. They'll have a list of all of the PT programs in the country. Of course you'll need to keep in mind that different states have varying requirements for entry-level practice in PT as the profession is in a bit of a state of flux/change.

Good luck!

Which colleges/universities offer Doctor of Physical Therapy programs?

We Answered:

This is a list of all the programs in the US: http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?sect…

Those labeled as "D6" are doctoral.

Most traditionally, you spend your undergraduate years doing the prerequisite coursework and then you apply to graduate school as you near completion of your BS degree.

The other way to do it is to enter a direct admit program where you are guaranteed acceptance into the graduate program if you do three years of undergraduate work at that school and maintain your GPA to the minimum standard...if you can get into one of these, you are at least guaranteed a spot in the graduate program, but these are usually at really expensive private schools.
