Depends on your health insurance policy wording and whether or not they make it a practice to seek reimbursement. They may have already put a lien on the settlement. This is not something we can answer for certain, you will have to find out from your HEALTH insurance company. In my claims experience the only companies I saw try for recovery were government (medicaid and medicare) or self-insured companies.Cynthia Said:

Yes, it is most likely that you will be subject to a pre-existing clause. This means that your current condition will either never be covered or have a waiting limit before they will pay for this condition.However, if you were immobilized after surgery and unable to complete PT for the first 30 days after surgery, I would certainly make this arguement to your insurance company. You were inappropriate for PT for the first 30 days after surgery....
You can always pay for PT out of pocket, but I do realize this gets expensive. At the very least, see the PT (or OT if appropriate), and have them advise you on what you can work on at home, and then you can follow up for brief visits for reassessment and progression of your home exercise program. This would minimize your out of pocket costs.

If she had collision coverage or underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage on her vehicle at the time of the accident, she can have her own car insurance company pay for the physical therapy. Her insurance will then subrogate her medical insurance company to recover the money they spend on her medical bills. If she files a claim with her own car insurance company under her underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage, then state law restricts her car insurance company from raising her rates. If she files a claim under her collision coverage with her own car insurance company, then her rates will go up. She will have to pay her deductible, but her insurance company is required to repay her deductible to her from the first subrogation money collected from her medical insurance company.Clifford Said:

For the entry level degree, there generally is not. However, once you have your PT degree, there is often some type of financial assistance or tuition reimbursement offered by many employers for advanced degrees beyond the entry level PT degree.PT is in demand, but not so much that they are willing to shell out tuition three years in advance.
Yet, you never know...start with a facility that is looking to hire a PT...especially if you are in a rural or hard to fill position.

At our facility, we have to have all time off approved and only one other person in your area can be off at a time. We are usually pretty good at working around it. We do have a small resource staff to help cover hours, but if only one person is off, it is usually not necessary.Corey Said:

It seems you have a good number that are close to you, SUNY Downstate, Stony Brook, Touro, NYU and a couple more. I worked in NYC for a number of years.
