Physical Therapy Dallas

Carl Said:

Where could one get free physical therapy assistance in Dallas?

We Answered:

My advice is to call the Dallas County Hospital and ask for a referral to any organization that offers charity care for physical therapy.

Second option, if it is serious enough, go to any public hospital ER and seek treatment. A public hospital has to treat you. They will set up payments for as low as $25.00 a month and after a couple years most hospitals will just write it off.

GOOD LUCK!

Links to Texas legal resources, including lawyer referral services and a link to help find attorney discipline records, are listed here:

There is also a Court Directory where you can search for local online legal resources by county, town and zip code.

This is the link to the Dallas Bar Association lawyer referral service:

Levels of Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

First, you do not need to become a PT aide or even a PT assistant before becoming a PT (which is the same thing as a doctorate of therapy or, DPT). In fact, it's actually a BAD idea to become a PTA before becoming a PT...taking the PTA course does not put you any further along in the program to becoming a PT. If you want to become a PT, you should do it from the start.

You cannot earn a BS in PT...in the US it is now either a master's or doctorate level program (you can do either). You might need to complete your undergraduate major first...you can choose anything...just as long as you've met the requirements for the graduate program. So most people choose something like biology or kinesiology as their undergraduate major. The graudate phase of the PT program is usually 3 years. In all, most programs are designed to be completed in 6-7 years.

I recommend going to the education programs section of the APTA website at: http://www.apta.org

To be a radiologic technologist, you can only be done in 2 years if you go full time. Accredited programs are generally 40 hours per week for 2 years, after prerequisites and acceptance into a program. You can find accredited radiography programs here: https://www.arrt.org/index.html?content=…
