Yes PT schools have gone doctorate. It is only one extra year. Most of the year is an internship. So do not give up on PT.

How do you treat herneated discs?

We Answered:

There are many different approaches to treating a herniated disc conservatively. This includes PT, DC, epidural steroid injection, etc. However, even within the fielf of PT, there are several different treatment approaches.

The current trend in PT is toward mechanical diagnosis and therapy. (However, most therapists do not have any training in it). It is estimated that about 60-70% can be treated this way (be wary of the study on "spinal decompression that claims a 90% success rate...it really is that for only a small percentage of the population...most people fall into the 50-70% category...about the same as MDT)...there are always, however, herniations that remain unstable and will not be able to be helped. However, if you can, mechanical diagnosis and therapy focuses on showing you how to can provent the problem from coming back, and to treat youself if it ever should return (which is the nature of these things) rather than make you dependent on a machine like spinal decompression. If you have not have the MDT approach, I would suggest it. You can find a credentialed provided at: http://www.mckenziemdt.org.

Another thing to consider is that weight is definetely an issue. Weight reduction may help you in your persuit for better health.

is statictics harder than college algebra?

We Answered:

There are two kinds of Statistics courses, and they differ radically in difficulty.

Algebra-based Statistics is not difficult, but you need some level of competence in algebra.
However, a serious study of Statistics requires deep understanding of calculus.

In short, some college Statistics courses are much harder than others.
