Trust me, there are enough OT job openings. You see more openings for PT's because there are more PT's out there.
I did experience burn out about 5 years ago, so I quit my job and got a new one in a completely different area ( adolescent mental health to neonatal ICU). That's the BEST thing about this profession, you'll never have a reason to stay stuck in a job that your burnt out on.

If you like Psychology and are doing well in it you shouldn't let your dad influence you so much. He needs to realize that all three of his children are different people, with different interest. You don't want want to be stuck in a career that you hate, at least with psychology you could be a social worker, a teacher, a child advocate, there is a lot of things you could become. follow your heart and your head and stop letting dad control your every move he needs to let you grow up.

while you're just taking classes for your AA you should explore different classes. eventually you'll come across something you find interesting. If not, look deep in your heart and think about something that you wouldn't mind doing for the rest of your life. I know everyone has been telling you this, but take your time, its a decision you can't pick overnight.

First of all - you need to do this FOR YOU!!!!!!!! Not for what your dad wants you to do. Trust me, first hand experience. I went to school to do what my dad wanted me to do - and I hated every minute of it...I didn't care if I skipped a class because NONE of it was appealing to me. You have got to make this decision for you - you don't want a job the rest of your life that you despise & can't stand. You want to be happy & actually like your job. I went back to school and got my degeree in accounting. I'm now a CPA and I make good money. & they best part of it is that im respected, and i like what i do. Stick with your guy instincts.

I'm not sure if the 2009 data is out yet. The bls lists PTs as holding 185,500 jobs. For OTs it was 104,500. This is a statement of how many jobs were held, not how many were "open"

Seriously you are telling stories about being in the Security Forces?

I did that for 6 years and a 11 month extension of my life

The most boring, unfulfilling job around and I never brag about it

The only good that truly came out of it was I got my Bachelors for next to nothing and a pay check while doing it

Other then that the leadership sucked (three bases and tour tours) all the same and no one looked out for one another, complete lack of camaraderie and it takes TO long in the AF to promote

You must be fresh in service because only people who brag about being Security Forces are the newbies
