Physical Therapy Knee Exercises

Cody Said:

I need some knee strengthening exercises to do?

We Answered:

I use this set to increase my flexibility on my knees for dance. I have short hammys so I have had to use these in order to stretch the backs of my knees. It has strengthened and lengthened my knee ligaments and it's cheap, it tones your legs, and comes with a dvd and everything you need. Your knees hurt worse when you do an impact exercise, running and walking, so this should help reduce that as well as tone you. WalMart has these the cheapest, Danskin Resistance Tube Kit

How old is to too old to receive physical therapy on your knee flex/extension?

We Answered:

What do you propose we should do with this lady? Take her out and shoot her, end her misery? I am a geriatric PT and the median age of my patients is late 70s/early 80s. The purpose of rehabilitating the elderly is not so they can become body builders or get them in shape for the olympics, but to give them the best quality of life for the longest amount of time possible. PT is very beneficial to the geriatric population. An age limit on rehab is ridiculous; I see patients who are in their 90s who are in far better shape then some 50 and 60 year olds.

Terry Said:

physical therapy exercises for thighs while still in short leg cast?

We Answered:

If you can do weight bearing, do knee bends to 30 degrees, leg extension, last 30 degrees. Abduction and adduction fine. Use half inflaed ball between knees, or put ball between knee and wall. Rubber tubing good also.

Natalie Said:

If I was in physical therapy for no stomach muscles, what would be my exercises?

We Answered:

I'm not sure. I have really bad knees. Patially torn ACL or part of my meniscus is removed in my left knee, and my right ACL completly torn. You should try taking a belly dancing class, it's very low impact on the knees and fun. Some adult school and communities offer it. It'll tone up your hips and tummy in no time. Don't get discouraged if you can't a lot of the movements at first. It's really fun.
