In order, to become a licensed PT, you need to graduate from a CAPTE accredited PT school. You can major in anything as long as you complete your pre reqs to apply to a DPT program. Most people would not get a MS in kinesiology, just a BS.If you asking if you can become a PT with a masters in kinesiology, the answer is no.
There are approximately 200 PT graduate programs in the US. They are listed at the national PT website. www.apta.org. PT programs age generally 3 years in length and require almost 1/3 of it in a full time clinical internship at several different facilities under a licensed PT.

Hopefully someone can share their experience with you. I don't have a record but my girlfriends husband has one and is currently working with a legal aid lawyer to get his felony erased or reduced to a misdemeanor since it's been almost 15 years ago. I would recommend presenting your plea to the board maybe getting some character and past employment references to better your chances and in the interim work toward getting that erased or reduced if considerable time has past and you've had no other incidents.Check with legal aid and find out how you can qualify to get this erased or reduced, that way you can legally answer no when asked about a felony conviction - good luck and congrats on your positive life change.
