Physical Therapy Majors In College

Gwendolyn Said:

Physical Therapy Majors?

We Answered:

As an undergraduate, you can choose any major you wish. Yet, most students choose something that incorporates the prerequisite courses such as kinesiology, biology, movement sciences, etc.

As you near completion of that, you will apply to the graduate level physical therapy program.

Amber Said:

Can I major in Physical Therapy then become a Surgeon?

We Answered:

It is my understanding that all medical fields have the same undergraduate track (Pre- vet, dentist, med etc). Most of the classes you would take for PT would be the same. for medical school, you might have to throw in a few extra classes, but nothing too outrageous.

Andy Said:

Which major is easier in college: Physical therapy or engineering( specifically electrical or mechancial)?

We Answered:

It depends on your interested and strength and weakness. I would have flunked out of engineering but did well in PT. Engineering requires more math and physics. I got through calc and physics but more of it would have been horrible. On the other hand, some people would have hated gross anatomy *cadavers) and neuroscience. PT also requires more people skills.

So I would suggest that you volunteer and see what you like.
