I had a spinal fusion in 2007 and still have severe pain in my neck !Help?

We Answered:

The draw back of spinal fusion is that the pain returns, which is why they are not keen to do it anymore. I am surprised as a MRI revealed you have a herniated disc at T1 that your Doctor has withdrawn pain medication? I would have thought your Doctor would have sent you to Pain Management. Best of Luck

Vera Said:

What is maryland 's law about using DR. title?

We Answered:

The title "Dr." refers to anyone who has received a doctorate level of education in their field. This can include MD, chiropractic, PT, PhD, EdD....it does not imply medical doctorate unless followed by the title, M.D. Unfortunately, the general public does not necessarily realize this distinction. It is for this reason I choose not to use it, but I am perfectly within my right to do so.

What organizations help brain injured people who have no money for treatment?

We Answered:

There is a wonderful facility in Houston called The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR). I know it is far from where you are but they may be a good place to talk with and can maybe direct you to somewhere in your area or assist with other questions that you have.
Good Luck

Wage garnishment in Maryland question?

I need help with Maryland's rape laws for juvenile victims?

We Answered:

As a matter of fact, Maryland is the very state that pioneered closed-circuit TV testimony. In the landmark Supreme Court case Maryland v. Craig of 1990, the court ruled that testimony of child victims of sexual assault are permitted via video link. This process was set down in Maryland's state law in the Criminal Procedure Article §11–303 (link below).

To sum it up, the court will determine ahead of time if she will be permitted to testify in this manner. Often this is done by privately being questioned by the judge, but the law allows her parents and her therapist to be present and make their case with the judge as well. It is highly likely it will be granted as it sound pretty cut and dry.

The testimony must be given live, not recorded, so she will need to be in the court house in an undisclosed room. Only certain people are allowed to know where she is and to be present in the room: The prosecutor, the defense attorney, the cameraman, her attorney (if any), and/or (with the judge's permission) her parents and therapist. The people in the courtroom (particularly the judge and defendant) will be able to communicate with the lawyers in the room via intercom, but not her directly, so so will never have to hear his voice or see him.

Of course if the guy just confesses, allocutes fully and takes a plea bargain, her testimony may not even be needed.

Discuss It!
