Johnny Said:

GPA to be accepted into Doctoral Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

According to the APTA website, the requirements are as follows:

IU: 3.2/4.0
U of M: states both 2.5/4.0 and 3.0/4.0...I think one of them is a typo
NC: 3.0/4.0
DU: doesn't state minimum GPA, but average of those admitted it 3.58 overall and 3.49 science GPA.

You are in a good position with a 3.7, provided you have completed your prerequisites and any other requirements they state.

Virginia Said:

how much do physical therapy asst. make an hr/year?

We Answered:

A PTA is an Associates Degree. Your boss is probably confusing that with Physical Therapist, which is a DPT ( Doctorates degree). A PTA can make $40,000-$50,000/year to start and quickly climb the ladder. A Physical Therapist hardly ever makes less than $50/hr working for someone else. If they own their own practice, they can expect to make around $150,000/year+++. Awesome professions.

I'm in nursing and regret not going into Physical Therapy. Your boss is right to encourage you. Strong field. Nursing is looking worse by the day and the jobs are vanishing to foreigners.
