Your first mistake was telling the officer everything. Never do that. Always "telling the truth" doesn't win you ANY points in the criminal justice system kid. Believe me. All your doing is making the prosecutors and cops jobs easier. That said, if you smoked a year ago, and there is nothing to corroborate that, then its his word vs. yours. You can just tell your lawyer you were nervous, and felt intimidated, and you want to retract your statement. There's no proof right? I noticed you said "buying pills & weed"...now if there is a witness to that, or the guy you bought from is also involved, then you might have a problem. But smoking a year ago, I would say no. In the end, you have to explain the situation to your attorney, even if he is court appointed. In the future, you should remember that when cops say "everything you say, can, and will be used against you in a court of law"...they mean it. Even if they are being nice to you, and joking with you, and getting you to trust them, thats what they do, thats their job. Consider this a lesson. It wouldn't be a bad idea to stop breaking into houses & buying drugs either.Anne Said:
