Physical Therapy Rotator Cuff
Michael Said:
How hard is the physical therapy for a partial rotaotr cuff tear?We Answered:
Rehabilitation after a partial rotator cuff repair is not as extensive as it is after a large or massive tear repair. In the latter, PT can last about 5 months long and can be incredibly uncomfortable for the first couple months.Small and medium repairs are not nearly as difficult, although most patients do report difficulty sleeping for the first month or so. These smaller repairs usually regain their mobility back within the first 6-8 weeks and it becomes much more comfortable after that point.
The biceps tenodesis is probably comparable to this procedure, but the rotator cuff will be slightly more extensive/painful if a small or medium tear repair is to occur.
