Physical Therapy Scholarships And Grants

Johnnie Said:

How to pay for graduate school?

We Answered:

Forget about Pell grants. They're only for undergrads. In fact, most scholarships are limited to undergrads only. You are wise to be concerned about debt, especially in this economy.

I would recommend seeing if you can find someone to pay for it. For instance, is there a hospital you know you want to work at when you're done? If you signed an agreement to work, is your profession in high enough demand that they would pay for it in exchange for promising to return? I don't know the answer for your profession and area.

Another option is to see if you can get an assistantship or fellowship from your university or college. Doctorate granting institutions often needs doc students to assist in research or teaching. That's how I'm paying for my PhD...

How to pay for Physical Therapy school?

We Answered:

I thought I already answered this one... But I'll briefly recap:

Some fields are in demand enough that private employers will pay for your schooling if you agree to work for them. See if that's the case.

See what the school can do for you as far as assistantships or fellowships.

Try working as a PT tech before you go back to school again. You may find that you love it or hate it. Better to do that before you're 100k in the hole.

Maybe you can work your way through school doing something close to what you'll be when you finish.
