Physical Therapy Schools California

Tracy Said:

What school in CA is good to go to for studying Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

Here is a link to all the PT schools in the US by State:

As far as "good schools"...I am not familiar with these schools in particular other than St. Augustine. It's unfortunate that all the CSU schools are still master's degrees when all the rest have moved onto the doctorate. But remember that all of these schools have had to go through an accredidation process.

Stanley Said:

Is there any recommended colleges in California that has well known programs for kinesiology/physical therapy?

We Answered:

Mount St. Mary's College has doctorate in physical therapy degree. http://www.msmc.la.edu

Classes at Occ. center may not be transferable to any (or most) university. Do look into this before wasting money or time.

Ray Said:

How can I start a career in physical therapy?

We Answered:

Start by asking local physical therapists where they recommend you go to school. They have the most up to date and valuable information on surrounding schools. Call different Physical therapy offices and ask.

Lorraine Said:

Is it possible to play a sport while in PT school?

We Answered:

Most PT students have used up their eligibility by the time they reach PT school. However, if you red-shirt for a year, you can still have a year of eligibility. Yet, I would not recommend it...especially football which requires an extensive amount of time at practice, meetings, and travel.

I did know two athletes who had a year of eligibility left, but they were a volleyball player and a tennis player. Both students took gross human anatomy and physiology in a summer session prior to the start of the first semester of PT school. This way, their load was a little lighter. Even then, it was still very challenging for these two.

If I were you, I'd play out my eligibility and then apply to PT school for the following year,

Discuss It!
